About STEMsmart

STEMsmart formally began in 2018, developing programs and materials for organizations that ranged from educational non-profits to elite test preparation companies. I bring expertise in STEM content, evidence-based pedagogy, and research-backed strategies to optimize student learning.

I graduated from Brown University with an Sc.B and Sc.M in Biology. I began teaching in 2011. Since then, I have taught Biology, Chemistry, and General Science at the middle school and high school levels. Since receiving my Ed.D in STEM Education from the University of Pittsburgh, I have been focusing on my true passion, STEM curriculum.

I am a certified teacher in three states and several subjects. I have contributed to several books on test prep and is currently working on an ACT Science workbook. I have developed NGSS- and CCSS-aligned STEM curriculum and consulted on STEM programs across the US. My strengths lie in efficiently collecting data to determine the highest-leverage ways to help individuals and programs reach their goals, including higher grades and scores for an individual, improved learning in a school, or better teacher satisfaction and retention in a district. My goal is to help organizations use their own resources to develop revolutionary educational programs and prepare every student for the most important, rewarding, and profitable careers in the twenty-first century.

When not teaching, tutoring, or consulting, I can be found spending time with my wonderful husband and children, training for triathlon, doing crossword puzzles, or singing show tunes.
